Promenade

Both Will and Susan have been taking pictures at parades and other public events for a long time, but it's only recently that we realized we have a project going and started organizing pictures. Will enjoys the street photography aspect of parades; Susan is fascinated by how people choose to publicly display themselves.

While making prints for the Selections from Promenade show, Will set aside his aversion to obvious Photoshop effects. There's something about soft focus and hard colors that really captures the feel of the Fremont parade for him. Unfortunately, he hasn't figured out how to get the effect to look right on a low-resolution image, so the online samples just look fuzzy. They look a lot better on paper.

Prints from this project have been featured in the Hotwire Coffeehouse, Selections from Promenade, Discoveries and Eastshore Bookstore Gallery 2006 shows.
